BIO
The work Dominique produces wrestles between the darkness and beauty of nature, exploring possibilities of iconic visions, mystery and intrigue of a multi layered Universe. Dominique works figuratively, symbolically, coupled with design and expressionism to produce lands of fleshy allegories. Born in New Bern, NC February 10, 1977. She grew up in Virginia among artists, activists, and thespians. A Virginia native, she spent most of her youth traveling back and forth across the country and working under mentor painter Greg Wallace. She has displayed works at numerous galleries, charity events, while soaking in the many cultures of San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles. An alumni of San Francisco Art Institute, she studied painting and sculpture, while submerging in North Beach’s underground poetic family. For 20 years Dominique has produced paintings for gallery shows, charities, and collectors. She currently resides in the Washington DC Metro area where she continues to paint vibrant, yet alluring works, uniquely bearing glimpses into a fleshy tunnel of sexuality, nature, and dreams.
