New Salon Policies
Due to the Novel Corona Virus, also known as Covid-19, strict policies are now in effect. It is extremely important to look over these before your appointment. Everyone is susceptible to this very contagious virus, it is of the upmost importance that these guidelines are respected at all times. We cannot afford to fail bc if we do, playtime is over. This is not just about us as a individual, but about others as well, and our families.
We must understand that anyone of us could get this virus, and there is nothing to be ashamed of if you do. What is most important is clear, open, honest communication. We have all been waiting for months, so if you go through my checklist below and you are not sure, you must reschedule. Cancellations fees are waived in response to this virus. If you have had Corona or Covid and have not tested after recovering, have not received a doctors note of good health, are still displaying residual symptoms, have been in contact with anyone sick, have recently travelled, you must reschedule. We cannot be selfish in both ways. What i mean by that is I am scheduling people with 45 minutes inbetween, not trying to maximize money, but safety and what i need from clients seeking services is to be selfless with their honesty. There are no cancellation fees, safety first.
Most of us know someone who is immune compromised (my parents/niece). I have clients who are 65+ Queens, Cancer survivors, and immune compromised clients. We all want to keep our loved ones and ourselves safe. So if you are not sure about your health, or anyone you have been around, you must reschedule. I have no room for failure once this pony gets on the road.
*** If you are partying w groups of people, not practicing (real) social distancing, think masks are stupid, think this virus is not serious, you must find a new hairstylist. No hurt feelings.
It's not up for debate.
**Below you will find a pre-appointment checklist, what to expect, followed by possible questions you may have if you have infact been personally touched by this virus. We are all in this together.
Salon Policies cont'd
*you will need to take your temperature the day before and the day of your appointment. I will also be taking your temparture via touchless temperature gun a.k.a. my Unicorn Temperature Taser and want our appointment to be nice and smooth. It's annoying, but it, along with wearing masks, is one of the best techniques to keep us all, including our families safe.
*when you arrive, stay in your car and text/call me at 703-447-2522. I will come to you and take your tempurature.
*Both Stylist and Client must wear a mask at all times.
*wash your hair the day of your appointment. We want clean fresh hair. I will also wash your hair when you arrive. This is very important. I will not cut hair that I have not washed. We are practicing sanitation at it's best to ensure that we complete this circle of safety.
*please do not bring your purse or other personal belongings inside. Leave them in your car. You can bring your cell phone in, but it must be disinfected. I have individually packaged alcohol wipes for your phone and you will want to wipe them down before entering the salon. If you have a larger device or Ipad, it will need to be wiped down with disinfecting wipes like Lysol, which I will be able to provide.
*After our appointment, I will not be able to hang out and talk like we used to.
I have to start sanitizing, disinfecting, and air purification for my next client.
**One day we will beat this! XOXO
*For safety, I'll be using disposable towels and capes. I also and using a HEPA approved UV air purifyer for purification all day.
*I will not be blowdrying hair with an "air" blowdryer. Than can potentially spread aerosols in the air. I do have a brand new Infared blowdryer that dries your hair without blowing air!
Questions you may have concerning Corona or Covid-19
If you have had covid or covid symptoms:
* you will need to wait TWO WEEKS after you NO LONGER HAVE SYMPTOMS OR RESIDUAL SYMPTOMS and you will also need TWO NEGATIVE COVID TESTS to be in the clear.
***THIS IS SALON POLICY. ****We all know someone who could be high risk and I serve Cancer survivors, of age and immune suppressed clients as well.
We must err on the extraodinary side of caution to keep everyone safe including all of our families.
***If you are unsure or not clear, please contact me with any questions.
***This is one hundred percent about us working together, honoring trust, and 110% science.
**There is no shame bc ANY one of us can be touched by this. However, we must ackowledge that while some people only get a light version many immune compromised (of any age) and our at risk generations deserve our greatest effort and respect. We must treat others as we would like to be treated.
SYMPTOMS INCLUDE: even if you have allergies or a cold, it is a symptom on this checklist, meaning we must reschedule. No cancellation fee. Thank you for working together in the name of safety and science.
Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:
Fever or chills
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Muscle or body aches
New loss of taste or smell
Congestion or runny nose
Nausea or vomiting
Look for emergency warning signs for COVID-19. If someone is showing any of these signs, seek emergency medical care immediately:
Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
Inability to wake or stay awake
Bluish lips or face
Call your medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning to you.
